چکیده
Background: Spinal block provides excellent anesthesia for cesarean section, but it is frequently accompanied byhypotension, which if untreated can pose serious risks to mother and baby. Over the years, many interventions have beentried prevent hypotension, no single technique has proven be effective reliable. This study was carried outwith aim find wrapping legs with elastic crepe bandage in addition traditional methods inpreventing post spinal hypotension.Materials Methods: A total of 60 full-term parturients an uncomplicated pregnancy belonging AmericanSociety Anesthesiologists I or II were allocated randomly (30 each group) their wrapped elasticcrepe done. All patients received intravenous (IV) crystalloid (20 ml/kg) 15 min priorto injection placed left lateral position. Electrocardiography oxygen saturation monitoredcontinuously heart rate, blood pressure measured every 2 until delivery baby 5 thereafteruntil end section. Significant hypotension treated IV phenylephrine 50 μg bolus doses. Results: The frequency significantly less (P = 0.009) Group B (legs 3 (10%) patientswhen compared (nonleg wrapped) 13 (43.33%). In 10 (33.33%) (10%)patients required rescue dose statistically significant 0.0003). Difference “meanchange arterial pressure” between highly < 0.001) recorded at 4, 6, 8 min. Conclusion: Incidence reduced by a subsequentreduction use potent vasopressor. Since leg cheap, easy, readily available, noninvasive, nonpharmacological method, recommended preventing adeveloping country like ours.

COMPARISON OF HEMODYNAMIC CHANGES DUE TO INTRAVENOUS OXYTOCIN INFUSION DURING GENERAL AND SPINAL ANESTHESIA IN ELECTIVE CESAREAN SECTION
Background & Aims: Postpartum hemorrhage is one of the life-threatening complications after labor and cesarean section. Its prevalence is 6 percent. Metratonia is the most common cause of this complication. Some medications can prevent it. Oxytocin is the most common uterine vasoconstrictor and is used routinely after delivery for decreasing hemorrhage. The aim of this study is to compare hemod...
متن کاملSupplemental oxygen in elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia: Handle the sword with care.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES We aimed to investigate the effect of 21% and 40% oxygen supplementation on maternal and neonatal oxidative stress in elective cesarean section (CS) under spinal anesthesia. METHODS Eighty term parturients undergoing elective CS under spinal anesthesia were enrolled in the study. We allocated patients randomly to breathe 21% (air group) or 40% (oxygen group) oxygen f...
متن کاملINCIDENCE OF SHIVERING DURING CESAREAN SECTION IN PATIENTS UNDER SPINAL ANESTHESIA WITH OR WITHOUT FENTANYL
Background & Aims: Postoperative shivering is one of the common complications of surgery in the recovery room, with an incidence rate of about 50-60% in various reports. Postoperative chills usually result in unwanted hypothermia during operation. Materials & Methods: In this study, patients were divided randomly (after selecting one of 32 card containing coatings) into intervention group (n=4...
متن کاملA sequential compression mechanical pump to prevent hypotension during elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia.
BACKGROUND Spinal anesthesia is a standard technique for cesarean section but can cause hypotension which may be related to venous pooling secondary to progesterone-induced decreases in vascular tone. This study investigated the use of a sequential compression mechanical pump with thigh-high sleeves with compression cycles timed to venous refilling. We hypothesized that this would recruit poole...
متن کاملEffect of preoperative warming during cesarean section under spinal anesthesia
BACKGROUND Postoperative hypothermia and shivering is a frequent event in patients during cesarean section under spinal anesthesia. We assessed the effect of preoperative warming during cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia for prevention of hypothermia and shivering. METHODS Forty five patients undergoing elective cesarean section were randomly assigned to three groups. Group F received ...
